We continue to undertake decommissioning projects similar to that carried out at Hammersmith hospital on behalf of the Medical Research Council, where 70% of the decommissioned materials were either recycled and transported by Furnells to Germany, or taken to Birmingham University for reuse in another project.
To this end Furnells have been audited by ONR (Office of Nuclear Regulation), RAMTUC (Radioactive Material Transport Users Committee) and LLWR (Low Level Waste Repository) and are now working under their “Framework Agreement”.
Specialist vehicles available include the Hammar ISO side-loader vehicle, XL rated curtain-side trailers (with multi-lock 2 tonne rated strapping points every 100mm along each side of the trailer), low loader trailers and skeletal trailers with multi-twist-lock capacity.
For enquiries regarding the movement of RAM, please contact our Managing Director Zachary Thole accredited DGSA (Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor).
